Top 4 Resolutions for
Real Estate Professionals

As 2016 comes to a close, most people’s minds start moving toward goals and successes in 2017. Real estate professionals begin the year with high hopes for productivity, consistency, and success, only to find that when business happens, your best intentions are laid to waste.

2017forrealestateagentsSo that you can set yourself up for the greatest chance at keeping these resolutions, here are the top 4 ideas to start with:

Have a plan

Begin with the end in mind. Know where you want to go, and work backward in your planning.  It’s important that you don’t just *think* of your plan.  You’ll want to write it down, as studies show that you’re 50% more likely to achieve your goals when you take the time to write them out.  Make a schedule for your plan, which can be as easy as a monthly, weekly, and/or daily calendar you use to plan your activities.

Be consistent

By keeping your goals clearly defined, you’ll have an easier time executing the schedule you’ve created.  Create digital reminders, and use digital tools available for advance scheduling of social media and blog posts.

Video killed the email star

You can’t be everywhere at once.  You can’t shake all the hands, meet all the neighbors, or visit with the families of the people you’re trying to reach.  That’s where video comes in.  You can do a walk-through of a house for sale.  You can review your expertise.  You can even do a review of a hot spot in a featured neighborhood.  Sky is the limit with video! Use video blasts on social media or in emails to your clients and prospects.

Organize yourself

Get your office and desk cleaned up.  File old paperwork.  Use a CRM to help you organize your data so you can send meaningful, relevant information to your prospects and clients.  For example, wouldn’t it be great to send a CMA and anniversary greeting to all the clients who bought a home in January? Interactions like that keep you front of mind and provide value, making you a continued source for information and an option for referrals to their friends and family.
